Poet Laureate Simon Armitage Visit

The current Poet Laureate Simon Armitage, who won the coveted Laurel Prize in 2021, will be visiting Colyton in March next year.

He will be a guest in Colyton as part of his A-to-Z tour of libraries, something considered a real coup for a small town.

We invited him to come as part of his 10-year national tour of UK to celebrate libraries and we are delighted and honoured to be one of eight libraries chosen by him for a visit in 2022.

FoCL are arranging a poetry and art competition for the event which will include the reading of the winning poems on the theme of Our Future Our Planet, composed by the budding poets from our local secondary age population.

We plan to hold an exhibition of poetry and art as part of the day.
